That Harper Kid was established in 2019 with a vision to provide resources and opportunities to underprivileged youth in the Chicagoland area. We provide healthy and safe environments for our youth by establishing trustworthy and reliable relationships with local organizations that will allow us to impact the lives of many. Our mission is to educate youth on how to WIN EACH DAY through education, sports, and health.

What We Offer
We provide families with the necessities to thrive in life. Supplying families with educational, health, and life resources to instill hope and growth in the lives of many throughout the City of Chicago. Our haven is for youth empowerment by offering programs that are research-based and focused on youth development for all ages 5 - 16.
Mentorship
To enhance students' development as young people (ages 8-14) by providing each student with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in life. Throughout the year, students will learn how to master themselves and their environments to take control of their future and life. This program is designed for students wanting to better themselves and enhance their quality of life.
A.T.H.L.E.T.E Activation
Providing character & player development for interested athletes to help enhance their skills on and off the court. All athletes will use the game of basketball to engage with the empathy map. The empathy map will cover five critical components and seven qualities. Each athlete will learn from certified professionals and instructors to help enhance their skills.
Chi Cares
Advocates for comprehensive outreach and programming through sports and education to enhance the longevity of life and prevent senseless violence throughout the City of Chicago.
Every year, Chi Cares Annual Basketball event will take place
Southside versus Westside" to unify our community and leaders to create change in high crime neighborhoods.
Community Connection Outreach
Community forums, events, givebacks, and free resources for underserved and underprivileged families. Bringing leaders of communities together with local residents to cultivate a better plan to provide a better future for our youth.
Meet That Harper Kid
Linnae Harper publicly known as "That Harper Kid" is a professional basketball athlete who was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. She attended and graduated from Whitney Young Magnet High School known as one of the top players in the nation - winning 4 city championships and an undefeated state champion.
Harper attended The University of Kentucky and graduated from The Ohio State University achieving many accolades in both programs. Linnae has much international experience winning seven USA Junior Olympic medals and competing abroad since the age of 16.
In 2018, Harper played for WNBA Chicago Sky and continues to play at the highest level. In 2023, Harper was a part of the FIBA 2023 World Cup Gold Medalist team and has been a part of the WNBA Washington Mystics. Harper uses her professional platform and her unwavering passion for youth to enter the world of philanthropy establishing That Harper Kid 501(c)3 based out of the Southside of Chicago.

While most initiatives are focused on young girls ages 6 - 17, it is also our priority to focus on young boys ages 6 -17
